What OPTPrep is

A self-help document preparation tool. We give you a guided way to fill in government forms, check your answers against public government lists, and produce a completed PDF.

What OPTPrep is not

• We are not a law firm and we are not your attorney. We do not give legal advice and we cannot tell you whether you qualify for anything.
• We are not affiliated with USCIS, ICE, SEVP or any government agency.
• We do not file anything on your behalf. Your I-983 goes to your DSO; your I-765 goes to USCIS. You send them.

What you are responsible for

The accuracy of everything you enter and everything you submit. Our checks catch common mistakes; they are not a guarantee that your form is correct, complete, or acceptable to your school. Confirm with your DSO before you file.

Preparing forms for other people

Your account is for your own paperwork. You may not use OPTPrep to prepare immigration documents for other people in exchange for payment. Doing that is regulated in many states and can be a criminal offence.

Payment

• Both plans are a single payment. Nothing auto-renews.
• Single Form unlocks one document permanently, including its evaluations.
• OPT Pass gives you unlimited documents for twelve months. When the year ends, everything you created during it stays yours and stays downloadable. Only new documents stop.
• Refunds: if you have not downloaded anything, email us and we will refund you, no questions.

Electronic signatures

Electronic signatures are widely accepted for the I-983, and SEVP has said they are acceptable. Individual schools set their own preferences, and some still want a printed, hand-signed copy. We always give you a clean print-and-sign version. Whether your school accepts an electronic signature is their decision, not ours.

Availability and liability

We work hard to keep OPTPrep running and your documents safe, but we provide the service as-is. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us. Nothing here limits liability we cannot legally limit.

Closing your account

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend new document creation on an account that appears to be preparing forms for others commercially — but we will not take away documents you have already paid for, and we will talk to you first.
